Jarden Collaborates with The Suter Art Gallery for its 125th Anniversary

To mark The Suter Art Gallery's 125th milestone, we are excited that Jarden, the forward-thinking investment and advisory group, is once again supporting us in showcasing a trio of special exhibitions throughout the year. This partnership goes beyond just financial aid—it's about working together to bring art to life in a way that resonates with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Julie Catchpole, Gallery Director, highlights the significance of Jarden's contribution, stating, "Thanks to Jarden, we have the support needed to turn our artistic vision into reality. Their commitment enables us to create exhibitions that inspire, challenge, and celebrate our diverse artistic heritage."

The exhibitions sponsored by Jarden offer a diverse range of artistic experiences. "ARTrageous: 125 Years Serving the Community" (Now - 6th October 2024) takes visitors on a colourful journey through our extensive collection, presenting artworks in fresh, engaging ways. From 7th September to 8th December 2024, "Hineukurangi" curated by Carla Ruka highlights the rich tradition of Māori clay arts in Aotearoa, showcasing works that have captivated audiences worldwide. The series wraps up with "A Show of Hands" (9th November 2024 - 6th April 2025), exploring the expressive nature of human hands in art.

Will Murphy, Marketing and Communications Manager at The Suter, expresses gratitude for Jarden's continued support, stating, "Jarden's commitment is invaluable, allowing us to bring exceptional exhibitions to Nelson and engage with the community in meaningful ways."

As a visual representation of this partnership, an eye-catching banner now adorns the Nelson City Council Clocktower building, courtesy of Jarden. This display not only promotes The Suter's exhibitions but also demonstrates Jarden's dedication to enhancing Nelson's cultural scene.

In an exciting collaboration with The Green Collective, The Suter is upcycling the banner into gorgeous tote bags to be sold in The Suter Store. These popular bags have proven to be a hit, and this latest edition featuring Bill Hammond's All Along the Heaphy Highway is expected to be equally successful.
